Royce is married to Tara and they live with their 7 year-old daughter, Avery, in Greenwood Village Colorado. They are expecting a second child in March of 2011. Royce is the youngest of three children from Madison, Wisconsin. His older brother Jeremy is serving the end of a 9-year career with the US Army in Texas with his wife Krystal and their two children. Jeremy was injured while serving our country in Iraq, and will be moving with his family to Colorado soon. Royce's sister, Alisa, lives in St. Paul Minnesota with her husband Keith. Alisa and Keith both come from commercial artist backgrounds and enjoy their outdoor lifestyles in the upper Midwest. Royce's parent's Bob and Dianne, still reside in Madison, where his mother retired from a long teaching degree and his father continues to serve his clients in the automobile industry. Although the trips home are less frequest then when Royce lived in Chicago, he sees and talks to his family often, and flys home with his family as often as he can.

Although Royce's business demands a lot of his time and energy, he finds balance in the many outside activities with which he participates.

2007 was an exciting year as Royce completed his first Ironman in his hometown of Madison, Wisconsin. Since moving to Colorado, Royce has participated in numerous road rides, climbed multiple 14-ners, and loves to escape to the mountains with his family to ski, hike or camp whenever possible.

Royce's other passion has now become sailing. He purchased his first sailboat, Virago, in December of 2006, and spent much of the summer months on the icy waters of Lake Michigan.  Tara loves that she "adopted" a boat in marriage and Avery is often captured on film behind the helm, steering the vessel through the breakwaters in Chicago.
